Directions: From Kirriemuir follow B955 signed to Prosen, Clova and Cairngorms National Park. At Dykehead fork left. Carry on for 7 miles until public road ends at telephone kiosk. Turn acute right and follow tarmac 200m uphill to hostel. Check out the map. What3Words: “afterglow;clay:modem”

Activities in the area
Walking is a very popular activity in Glen Prosen. There are lovely low-level walks and testing climbs throughout the glen, which also offers access to several of the other Angus Glens, various Munros, the Cairngorms Plateau and the Cateran Trail.
This is also a very good area for mountain biking, cycling, climbing, kayaking and many other outdoor activities. And in winter, we’re only a couple of glens away from Glenshee Ski Centre.
If you’re looking for a more relaxing break, Glamis Castle is nearby. In Kirriemuir, Barrie’s Birthplace offers a fascinating look at the childhood of the creator of Peter Pan, while his gift to the town, a Victorian Camera Obscura, provides sweeping views of the surrounding hills and mountains.
There are also two excellent museums – The Gateway To The Glens and Tayside Police Museum.
